Help me

Help me through this time of pain,
Through the dark and through the rain.
Surround me, carry me, do what you can,
Scared and lonely is what I am.

Take my anger, take my hurt,
Pick me up when I’m in the dirt.
Help me forgive, that is ever so hard
So many things have left me scarred.

I’m sorry I have turned my back,
Trust is something I greatly lack.
It’s no excuse, that I now see,
But your forgiveness and love will set me free.

Protect me form the things within
I have no idea where to begin.
I feel lost, confused, what do I say?
Please God, help me, show me the way.

Struggling, disorientated, where do I turn?
With your help, I will soon learn
Help me push that door just a jar
So then I can see that it’s really not far.

Hold my hand as I step on the floor
Squeeze it tight as I approach the door
Nudge me if you need to, I may hesitate
Help me wipe clean, and start a new slate.

The road less travelled is ever so rough.
But with you by my side, it won’t seem as tough.
At times I may stumble or even fall
But I know you will help me, I just have to call.
